2 ND Annual Fashion for a cause Black Tie-Red Shoe Fundraiser...

On December 30th Restore to Empower will be hosting the 2nd Annual fashion for a cause charity fundraiser. The theme is a Black Tie-Red Heels Gala featuring a tea party which will be accented by fashion on the runway. The beautiful sounds of Orchestra Noir will grace the event.

Proceeds to the event will Restore to Empower Charity Organization ongoing projects.

Restore to Empower is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, which leads in humanitarian services, providing much-needed assistance to people in need and also offering training and support to them. We are dedicated to serving the youth who are underprivileged with humble beginnings as well as disadvantaged and abused women. We empower them by offering basic personal & health services, lifestyle coaching, sewing & fashion training, mentoring, life skills, GED prep, and educational programs. These will aid them in achieving their dreams and live a more meaningful, stable and productive life and in so doing, allow them to reach and develop their full potential.

Our current and prospective projects: 2018/2019

1. The uniforms project provides uniforms for needy students, (We have already provided uniforms for two schools in the Caribbean Island of Dominica which was ravaged by Hurricane Maria)

2. The Backpack project donates stationary and small personal supplies to students and teachers

3. We offer Educational Scholarships to students who have had a parent die of cancer

4. The Christmas Project Blanket for Kids allows kids to sew blankets and donate them to other kids at various hospitals

5. Boot camps with sewing and book writing courses.

Our projects are designed to align with our core mission outlined below. 1. Foster a commitment to youth that will promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, reassert a sense of hope in the future to maintain a positive impact on the community. 2. Identify and investing in youths who are going to have a turbulent transition to adulthood . 3. Offer a positive support system to avoid the pitfalls that can derail their lives 4. Empower each youth to make positive changes in his/her life 5. Build a stable, stronger, thriving community while creating a sense of purpose and belonging to each individual.

 Training and empowerment, coaching projects.

Students will attend three-five days training; will create their own T-shirt & pants/skirt design. We will be cutting out the pattern from the fabric to transfer on the t-shirt. We will iron it to the fabric and then peel the backing, to apply to shirt.  We are in need of sewing supplies, Sewing machine, material equipment, t-shirts etc. for our fall and winter  project. Student will also participate in the empowerment coaching program, which helps them to believe in themselves. Free program
